That would be very interesting seeing as nicknames don't translate very well at all in Chinese.

As far as I know, there's no Chinese equivalent to "Buffer" or "X".

No but bosun in chinese is shuǐ shǒu zhǎng. Somehow seeing Buff called shoo shoo or something similar definitely wouldn't have the same effect.

I found on You Tube last night the opening credits in I think Italian (according to a friend, I'm not sure). ET was called EDDY and RO was TAC TAC, Kate was captain and Mike was Commandant.

The title of the clip is Generique de Sea Patrol.

The link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxMQXYUFHME

I am only guessing the language so if I am wrong let me know. I only know a little German other than English and that is only because someone I know is married to a german.

thanks for the link!!
It's french.
I live in Belgium and I know little German, English, French and Dutch
And Dutch and French are the 2 most important languages in our country
And I recognized the "et" which is "and" in English.
But these names are hilarious especially "Eddy" instead of "ET" and "Tac tac" (!) instead of "RO"!!

Thanks for the link. Yeah, it would be funny watching SP in French. Maybe I could learn french whilst watching some eps since I know nearly all of the words to some of them
